Today’s flyer, Ana-Maria McKessy, brings a very special energy and vibe to our community: she’s a psychic! But we’re not talking the Whoopie-Goldberg-in-Ghost kind of psychic…Ana Maria is a modern-day spiritual medium, channel and energy healer. Her strength is in empowering women to realign their awareness and creativity to connect with the universal flow of energy. Through transformational healing, she guides others through life-altering transitions, freedom from abusive relationships, and liberation from unfulfilling careers. Let’s get to know Ana-Maria!
1. Tell us in a few sentences what you do. And why you do it.
Primarily, I provide energy healing and life coaching services. I also do inner voice facilitation and past life readings. I created “When Spirit Leads” to help women, like myself, who are re-vamping every aspect of their lives – especially those who’ve had traumatic experiences and are looking to heal and come out stronger.

3. When I wake up in the morning the first thing I do is…
Meditate and ask the universe: “What do I need to know today?”
4. My best business advice is….
Try to only work on your business when it brings you joy. It may mean having to pivot on what you had planned to work on during the day, but the more you invoke positive energy into what you’re doing, the more likely you will get great results!
5. My professional goal for 2021 is…
Take on as many speaking engagements as I can handle—not merely to promote my business, but mostly to stretch myself as it’s not something I’m entirely comfortable with. I want to be an example to other women looking to stretch themselves beyond what they think they are capable of doing.
I think that by allowing ourselves to be really authentic and share our stories and fears with each other, we can break through any illusion that every successful female entrepreneur has it all together or that her success comes easily. By being real we let other women see that we really are all the same. Each of us is only human – we fail, we stumble, we falter – but we always get right back up and keep going!
6. Supporting women in business is now more critical than ever. How can our community best support you?
I would be SO excited if See Her Soar were to promote and follow my Facebook group Spiritual Gravy Train! It is a brand-new group and I’m working on building a community of women looking to share their spiritual gifts and unique talents with the world and make money doing so.
In our society it can be challenging to make a living in non-traditional professions, such as a holistic healing, or as psychics or astrologists. The same is true for creatives such as painters, jewelry makers, and other artists. I feel called to help support women in these professions and would be thrilled if See Her Soar would assist with that!
I am so appreciative of this opportunity to be featured by your organization and delighted that so many other women are also. I firmly believe that any action we take to support our fellow sisters has a compounding effect on the collective impact we make for all women. Just by spotlighting female entrepreneurs in this way See Her Soar is doing a tremendous service for all women.
7. Your Astrological sign:
8. Favorite donut:
Duck Donut’s Chocolate donut with chocolate icing, oreo cookie pieces and buttercream. Scrumptious!
9. Favorite podcast:
“It’s All Related” with Sonia Choquette & her daughters Sonia and Sabrina. It’s a very light-hearted, fun podcast about how they lead intuitive lives with the help of their spirit guides.
There’s a lot of laughter and storytelling and I love the warm relationship between Sonia and her girls. It feels very relatable to me as I also have a close relationship with my two girls, who are incredibly intuitive. Together with my son, we also have a lot of fun together. They especially love to laugh about some of the mystical practices that I do to keep bad energy out of our home; it’s never boring in our house!
10. Favorite book:
Mary Magdalene Revealed by Meggan Watterson. It’s a fascinating look at Mary, the original feminist Christian, who wrote the only gospel written by a woman. The wisdom behind her teachings is truly amazing and the book is written with humor and a deep reverence for the woman behind the early Christian movement. Her radical teachings meant that most of her gospel was destroyed, except for the parts buried deep in the Egyptian desert. The book provides a more historically and theologically accurate description of who she really was, how she was erroneously depicted as a prostitute, and how her influence on early Christianity was a real threat to the patriarchal systems of the time.
11. Favorite pandemic binge watch:
My girls and I are currently bingeing on Alias, which was made back in 2001. Jennifer Gardner is a butt-kicking double-agent on a mission to bring down the organization she’s working for. Each episode ends with the perfect cliff-hanger that keeps you wanting to binge!
12. When I practice self-care I…
…state what I need. It took me years of healing to get to the point where I can do this!
13. The place I am happiest is…
…the beach – any beach, as long as it’s not too crowded and there aren’t too many seagulls looking to be fed!
14. People are surprised to learn…
Have an extremely goofy sense of humor. Because the work I do is very intense, many people assume that I’m an intense person, but the opposite is really true. I find humor in almost everything and I’m usually the one with the loudest laugh in the room.
15. 2020 taught me…
That I can be quite content spending time alone. Being a strong extrovert, I initially thought having to social distance would be absolutely devastating. But I learned that my favorite person to be with is me. It’s been an incredibly empowering discovery!
