Happy New Year, and welcome to See Her Soar, where we are proud to introduce you to Iris Cole, the first woman to fly with us, and an amazing social entrepreneur.

1. Tell us in a few sentences what you do. And why you do it.
I’m Iris Cole, the co-founder of She Raises the Bar, a corporate social responsibility & sustainability consultancy firm and a social entrepreneur, having founded the social enterprises Do Good Artist and SHEtali. I label myself a “undefined changemaker”, partly because I am involved in a variety of different pursuits. But no matter what the pursuit, the end goal is always the same. I am drawn to work, and entrepreneurial and philanthropic endeavors that have a significant impact on the communities I live and work in, as well as around the world.

2. What is your contact info (that you want shared) please include any active social handles, websites etc.

3. When I wake up in the morning the first thing I do is?
Drink coffee and read. I also set the 2-3 most important things that I really need to accomplish that day.

4. My best business advice is….
Be brief. Be great. Be gone.

Leave people feeling that your punctual and precise involvement brings great value or a “secret sauce” to the equation.

But the very best advice is to be humble, genuinely interested, and kind. People know when you are fake, when your ego leads you, and when you are a jerk. They don’t want to be around or go the extra mile for any of those.

5. My professional goal for 2021 is…
Strengthen brand recognition, launch ready products and MVP’s, and hire more women.

Personally, it’s to focus on cultural humility.

6. Supporting women in business is now more critical than ever. How can our community best support you?
I think it’s so important that women take the opportunity to get to really know one another and promote one another in spaces that make sense. The more we support one another, the faster we all rise, the more safe and flourishing spaces we will make for more women. For me specifically, if you know of organizations that are looking to really innovate their social and environmental investments, enhance the ways they engage with their stakeholders and communities or improve diversity, equity & inclusion or corporate culture, these are companies I’m interested in working with.
