Let’s be honest, I don’t know much of anything about golf beyond the miniature variety, but Penny Parks does, and she shares this metaphor with us: “Golfers all know that it is important to leave the golf course in a little bit better shape than the way you found it: rake the bunker, repair the divot marks on the green and in the fairway. And that’s my philosophy in my business life as well. My goal is to leave the world in a little bit better shape than the way I found it.” We love this outlook, and we are excited to share more about Penny Parks with you today!

1. Tell us in a few sentences what you do. And why you do it.
Links Financial helps business owners through the life cycle of their company – whether they are just starting out, experiencing explosive growth or are ready to sell their company. We do this by advising and helping them raise capital, buy or sell their business, or restructure their company if needed. If I didn’t work I would play golf every day. And golfers all know that it is important to leave the golf course in a little bit better shape than the way you found it: rake the bunker, repair the divot marks on the green and in the fairway. And that’s my philosophy in my business life as well. My goal is to leave the world in a little bit better shape than the way I found it.

8. Favorite donut:
My high school best friend worked at Dunkin’ Donuts and she would leave her uniform in the back seat of her car as we would drive around town looking for trouble. So – to this day – I can’t really eat a donut because I still remember the smell of stale grease and powdered sugar!

9. Favorite book:
There are so many! I love to read and read all genres – mysteries, non-fiction, business, fiction, biographies, and political. I have so many favorite authors and look forward to each of their new releases!

10. Favorite pandemic binge watch:
When the pandemic started my husband and I were just in disbelief so we didn’t want to commit to any series that would take a long time to watch – so for the first month we would only watch movies!

Practice yoga at the 6 am class at Kodawari.

12. The place I am happiest is…
Playing golf with my husband!

13. People are surprised to learn…
Make holiday wreaths and trees as well as painted trays as a hobby/small business! During the holidays people often ask – have you decorated your house yet – we are decorated all year, with at least 25 trees and 50 wreaths around our house at all times! There’s a lot of glitter, beads, and lights at work!

14. 2020 taught me…
We’re all in this together!

In addition to golf, Penny knows how to celebrate.  The idea of decorating and celebrating all year long is delightful and something more of us should do, whether physically or just metaphorically.  This life is hard, and 2020 certainly showed us how true that can be, but it is also beautiful and worthy of celebration.  Thank you Penny for helping us appreciate the beauty a bit more today, and thank you for soaring with us!

We invite you to join our new community, See Her Soar, where we will amplify one woman and her work every day of the year. Our purpose is to curate a space to make meaningful connections and to support women, so they may be financially stable.
